Jazz Maine is not content with its Bouche-AOreille festival in the spring, and is now offering three events as part of Jazz Week. Jazz Week, November 9-11.
The Jazz Maine association, organizer of the Bouche A-Oreille festival, is proposing that from Wednesday November 9 to November 11, Jazz Week will take place at several venues in Anjou.
On November 9 at the Folies Angevines, Lew Tabackin’s trio will perform as part of their European tour. Two musicians reside in this immense colossus: the saxophonist, whose roots lie with Coleman Hawkins, Ben Webster and Sonny Rollins, and the flutist, who is influenced by classical music as well as ancient Eastern traditions. He follows in the footsteps of the great tenors of the 60s. This is the most eagerly awaited event of the week, and not to be missed.
The next day, Thursday November 10, is a super jam at T’es Rock Coco, with a host of guest musicians kicking off a lively evening.
On Friday November 11, guitarist Karim Sidate’s trio, whose jazz is colored by Malagasy rhythms and the island of his origins, will perform at Le 122. Meet these young musicians.
